When not daydreaming about far-off adventures, Erin can be found at the playground with her kids or working on releasing her next podcast episode.
Erin P.T. Canning writes fantasy and romance (romantasy) novels that often feature strong women, world travel, and people making unlikely friends.
Erin has also worked for more than fifteen years as a magazine and book editor, encouraging each writer’s individual voice and strengthening their writing goals.
She always planned to write a book. Then she had kids. While she focused on them, she stopped writing—for six years. Something deep inside was missing. Depression, anxiety, and anger forced her to search for herself, both for her sake and her family’s.
Despite fearing her skills had atrophied, Erin started writing again. One journal entry led to one blog post that led to her creating her podcast, Parents Who Write.
Now that her identity extends beyond chauffeur and tickle monster to include word generator and comma placer, she finished writing her own shitty first draft in 2022, and The Aerytol Saga became so epic that she keeps dividing the book in half.
Book One celebrates Erin taking herself off the shelf and making her own dreams come true.
She earned her BA in Literature from The American University and MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She lives with her husband and their two boys in Maryland.
